Day Six "Monochrome Madness!"

I am working now on taking black and white pictures! You really have to work with the shutter speed when working with b & w. For my outside pictures, I was constantly changing it.
Working with monochrome changes the way I see things to photograph. Taking out color is a real challenge. Especially shooting in Arizona where the blues are amazing. Here are four different ones that I was playing with this morning. Enjoy!

I played with the contrast in the editing of this photo. Also I think that it looks so much better in black and white.

Day One "Garden Hose"

Looking for something that is considered ugly or just ordinary and finding beauty in it I thought would be easy to find. As I started to look for those things I realized that this weeks challenge will be harder than I thought.


This picture was one that I shot before I went into the house. The sunlight caught the garden hose so nicely and soft. After I downloaded it I loved the curves and different lines.

New Challenge

Take a photo of what might be considered ugly, but YOU see beauty in.
I think that this will be my first challenge for the new year. Stay tuned!
